Awareness Program for Public Librarians
District Central Library, Tiruchirappalli and Bishop Heber College Jointly organized Awareness Program for Public Librarians on “Digital Literacy” through Mobile Computer Lab at District Central Library.
About 20 Librarians participated.
Renovated Kuzhipirai Branch Library
Kuzhipirai Branch Library in Pudukottai District has been renovated at the cost of 6.50 lakhs with the support of “Pasumai Kuzhipirai Trust” Computer, Printer and Invertor have also been donated to the Library by Trust. Hon’ble Law Minister inaugurated the renovated Library.

Librarian Honored
A senior citizen aged 83, Thiru.R.Govindarasu residing in Subramaniapuram, Tiruchirappalli sent a petition to Honourable Chief Minister Grievance Cell requesting to deliver books from Public Library, since he is not able go to library to borrow books. To fulfil his needs, subsequent to exploring the possibilities the librarian of Ariyamangalam Tmt.P.Shakila Begam has come forward to offer special service to the senior citizen by delivering the books at his house at a regular interval. To recognise the noble service, the librarian was honoured by Honourable Education Minister on the occasion of Librarian’s Day celebration held recently at the District Central Library, Tiruchirappalli.
Great Honor for Librarians
The Readers’ Forum of District Central Library Tiruchirapalli organized a function with noble objective to honor the librarians on 21.08.2021.Hon’ble School Education Minister Thiru Anbil Magesh Poyyamozhi graced the occasion by honoring the Librarians who performed well in enrollment of Membership, Patrons( Donors) and the improvement of Libraries.The Hon’ble Minister also honoured Mr Vallnaadan Ganeshan, Vice President of the Readers’ Forum who have donated Competitive Exam books worth Rs 10000/- , Dr Arunachalam, Advisor Readers’ Forum who subscribed ‘ The Week’ magazine for District Central Library Mr Nanmaran, Vice President, Readers’ Forum who subscribed Daily ‘ Tamil Hindu’, Mr Manogaran, Adviser, Readers’ Forum who offered lunch for all the librarians and Great Patrons who donated 5000/- and 10000/- to the Library.Our sincere gratitude to District Collector who preside over the function and for his consistent support for the Public Library Movement.Our thanks to Chief Education Officer who offered felicitations.Our big and sincere thanks to our beloved Readers’ Forum President Tamil ChemmalMr V.Govindasamy who is instrumental for all such noble deeds.
